The town of Kozina
Kozina Since Roman times, an important road connecting Trieste to Rijeka has lead through Matarsko podolje. Here the road intersects with the Ljubljana-Koper main road. The town began to develop after the construction of the railway line. Only a few kilometers to the southwest near Krvavi Potok is an international border crossing to Italy. The road running to Koper leads across the Podgorje Karst, a barren plateau situated between Slavnik and Črni Kal. Along the main road is the village of Petrinje, while Rakitovec lies to the southeast. The craggy walls and screes of the Podgorje Karst descend into the Rižana Valley. Perched on the edge of the plateau, running above Trieste and overlooking the border with Italy, in Socerb, which offers a fabulous view of Trieste and its surroundings. Now that we finished this part of the Karst, we are going to visit the areas which are the hottest in Slovenia. See you there...
