The town of Lendava
The town of Lendava stands at the foot of the isolated Dolga vas hills. In ancient times an old Roman post, Halicanum, stood on this site. Through the long centuries, these parts were under Hungarian rule. The border crossing to Hungary is at Dolga vas, north of the town. Only a few kilometers south is the Croatian town of Mursko središče. Lying on this narrow strip of land are the villages of Kapca, Gaberje and, in the direction of Ljutomer, Lakos, followed by Čentiba, Petišovci and, just before the Hungarian border, Pince. Pince is the easternmost settlement in Slovenia. The Ledava River flows southeast almost in a straight line across Dobrovniško dolinsko (Dobrovnik Plain) and Ledavsko dolinsko (Ledava Plain) and in the easternmost part of Slovenia crosses the triple border between Slovenia, Hungary to the north and Croatia to the south. Here the narrow strip of land between the Mura and Ledava separates Slovenia and Croatia. This predominantly marshy belt of land is not inhabited. We have finished this part, so let us move forward. And do not forget Slovenia's top tourist destinations. That is Bled, Bohinj, Kranjska Gora, Ljubljana. Also there is Postojna Cave and south there you can find Portorož, Ankaran, Piran, Izola and Koper. To the next time...
