Meziska Valley, a land full of surprises
The Meziska Valley The Meža River originates in the Karavanke Mountains between Olševa (1929m) and Peca (2126m). In this region the state border with Austria runs along the ridges extending from Olševa (barely touching its west slope) to the southeast across Moraldčev vrh (1490m), Snežnik (1544m) and Mozganov vrh (1575m) to Peca. From here it runs northward along gradually descending ridges. The Meža River works its way from the narrow upper part of the valley between the Karavanke and the Kamnik – Savinja Alps northward past Črna na Koroškem, which lies in the first widened part of the valley. The Bistra stream flows below Raduha (2062m) and joins the Meža southwest of Črna, while the Javorje stream flows down the wooded foothills to the east, which face the Šalek Valley on the southeast. In all three valleys solitary farms are scattered among deep torrential ravines. Uf, we made it. Now, are you interested in more? Visit Slovenia and discover for yourself. To the next time...
