Portoroz, Slovenia's leading seaside resort

You can find Portoroz, on the north side of Piran Bay , laid in a bed of greenery.

The beginnings of tourism in this town go back to the end of the past century. Today Portorož is united with Lucija – a well known coastal town with a large marina, a Forma Viva sculpture exhibition on the peninsula between Seča and Lucija – into Slovenia's leading seaside resort with a kilometer long sandy beach.

The plain between Seča and Dragonja, created by the Dragonja river, is occupied by saltpans. There is a sport airfield near Sečovlje, and only one kilometer to the south is an international border crossing to Croatia.
