Ptujska gora and the famous church
Ptujska gora - Ptuj mountain Downstream from Štatenberg the Dravinja flows through a valley below the northern slopes of the Haloze hills. This valley is separated from the Drava Plain on the north by the gently sloping Ptuj mountain, which extends almost all the way from Štatenberg to the confluence of the Dravinja and Drava Rivers. In the widened part of the valley are the villages of Lešje and Majšperk. Roads lead from Majšperk across the celebrated Ptuj mountain (famous for its church) towards Ptuj and across the Haloze hills to Rogatec on the south. Ptuj mountain obtained market rights as early as in 1940. The church on its summit was built in the 15th century and is one of the most typical Gothic churches in Slovenia. So, we did it. Yupi yea. We rock, do we not? Want to discover more about Slovenia, the capital Ljubljana, or Bled Lake, Bohinj and Kranjska gora, and the very well known Postojna cave?
