Radlje at Drava, a small but interesting town

Radlje at Drava lies at the foot of the Kobanski hills, on a terrace above Radeljsko polje.

To the north a road crosses the nearby border crossing into Austria, and to the south the roads lead through Spodnja Vižinga on the north bank of the Drava, and across the bridge at Vuhred towards Ribnica na Pohorju.

Radlje ob Dravi already obtained market rights, as did Muta and Vuzenica, in the Middle Ages. On a hill overlooking Radlje are the remains of Stari grad (Old Castle). At the time a Dominican convent operated in Radlje. In this region the Drava River is dammed in several places. Hydro – electric power plants have been constructed near Dravograd, above Vuzenica and in the ravine below Vuhred.

The Kobansko hills on the north and the Pohorje hills on the south have particularly no clustered villages. They are dotted with numerous isolated farms primarily engaged in animal breeding and forestry.

So this is it. It is up to you to visit and discover Radlje, you will not regret it. See you there..
