The Tabor Cave, a beautiful place to visit
The Tabor Cave, open to visitors, is situated near the village of Velike Lipljene below Jelovec (666m). The road leading from Ponova vas brings you to the cave and continuous onward towards Turjak. Only a kilometer before the Cave, on Tabor hill, is a well-preserved defense camp dating from the period of Turkish invasions in Slovenia. This is a Gothic church encircled with massive walls and defense towers. The streams crisscrossing the basin unite in the Dobravka River, which sinks underground at Radensko polje near the ruins of Boštanj Castle. The castle stands on an isolated hill and was burned down during World War II. Carving its way southeast among the karst plateaus is the marshy Radensko polje. So you have learned a new place to visit, besides Postojna Cave, it is also very famous. To the next time...
